Long Term, All Inclusive Contracts Spell Disaster!
We have gotten many calls lately from customers who signed 5 year contracts with a local office coffee service company and now the company is out of business. The big problem is that the these customers have several years left on their contracts and they can't get out of them because the contracts were sold to a bank. Nothing on the contract states that the company is owed any coffee supplies, it only states that the customers is paying monthly for the equipment. Now these customers are stuck with anywhere from $250/month payments to upwards of $1,000 month payments that they can't get out of and no coffee supplies!
The old adage in this instance definitely applies - if it appears to good to be true, it usually is. Also, if you are being promised something, make sure that promise is on the agreement or you may be left wanting.
